Reading, Math, and GED Preparation:

If you want to improve your reading skills, math skills or prepare for the GED you must first attend a four hour orientation at 1500 East Thomas Road, Suite 102. You will need to bring proof of legal residency with you such as a driver's license or state issued ID card. You will also need to bring a notebook, pencil and black pen.  

Only the first 30 people to arrive will be allowed to attend. Orientation starts at exactly the time indicated. If you are late, or if the room is full you will not be able to attend. You must stay for the entire orientation. Only the person enrolling in the program is allowed to attend unless they have special physical needs. Children are not allowed in the building.  

Orientations will be held as follows:  

Thursday August 12, 2010 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  

 

EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2010 A $25.00 REGISTRATION FEE WILL BE REQUIRED FOR PROGRAM PARTICIPATION. ALL FEES MUST BE PAID PRIOR TO PROGRAM REGISTRATION. FEES WILL BE DUE EVERY 6 MONTHS OF ENROLLMENT.  

Requirements to be a student in a Literacy Volunteers' program:  
 
1. You must have the desire and time to increase your skills. (8 hours minimum per week).
2. You must be at least 16 years of age.
3. Not enrolled in school or other educational institution.
4. Must show proof of legal residency.
